THE PROCESS

The greatest challenge

This project was challenging because of old ornaments that were present on both sides of the entrance. These needed to keep their shape because of their historic value. We went to the store to measure the corners and after that, we custom made frames which fitted exactly around them. The LED screens were placed in these frames.

Plug & play prepared in our workshop

Both the plates and the power supplies were prepared in our workshop. Then, the plates were shoved into the frames, after which the LED tiles could easily be clicked on by using magnets. We chose a pixel pitch of 3.91 for the LED tiles, causing all of the played content to be visibly properly from the outside. Eventually, we only needed 2 days to install this plug & play solution in the store itself.

Playing and changing content

At first we wanted to use a canvas to cover the frame and the screen. This way, we could soften the brightness of the screen a little bit. When the canvas was placed, it turned out that the content was not visible at all! For this reason, the cover was left out in the end. The LED screens were powered by Meanwell power supplies and controlled by a Sending Card of Novastar. This is connected to a content player with which you can preset the content you want to play. This way, Vodafone-Ziggo can show suitable content for every moment that will attract passers-by.
