THE PROCESS

Indoor and outdoor

When we were asked for this project, we were immediately enthusiastic. The design was wonderful and we loved to work on it. This artwork consists of a circle of LED lines that were put through the building. Some of these lines were located outside, while others were located inside. This ensured a fantastic design but made it a very big challenge in terms of construction. It had to be fit together properly, and all be mounted in the same way and at the same distance. Eventually the end result was exactly what we wanted it to be!

A hanging construction

Another challenge of this project was that some lines were eight meters long, but we couldn't use poles because this would devaluate the artwork. Therefore, we designed a beam which we placed on the roof. From here we installed steel wires that could keep the lines tight. It kept all of the lines in the right place and it seemed like they were floating in the air.

Plug & play prepared

Our assembling specialists have prepared the LEDs custom-made in our workshop. To be able to do this right, we first measured everything in Leuven, up to the last inch. Then we transported the lines to Leuven where we attached everything ourselves.

'It was awesome to work together with this team. The clients really challenged us to go for the maximum result. We initially saw difficulties with the long spans and the seamless transition from inside to outside on the sloping roof. But it did work and it was beautiful!'
